What can AI do today? And how are countries investing in the artificial intelligence landscape?
These are two of the questions that Datastory and AI Sweden will explore more in an upcoming collaboration.
Using new research and open data, the organizations are setting out to build user-friendly tools to track new developments and trends, as well providing a first-hand experience of what artificial intelligence can mean in practice.
Inspired by publications such as Distill.pub, the OpenAI blog and tools like TensorFlow playground, we are looking for new creative and cross-functional methods to portray the past, present and future of AI.

“Supporting decision makers, journalists and citizens in visualizing the value AI can bring to society is an important objective for AI Sweden. Datastory’s expertise will be a crucial component for achieving this and we are excited to start working together“ says Mikael Ljungblom, Head of Communications and Public Affairs at AI Sweden.
“We’re delighted to start this collaboration with AI Sweden. Their domain knowledge and network of experts, coupled with our data journalism and visualization methods open up new possibilities to create digital tools.” says Daniel Lapidus, founder of Datastory.
AI Sweden is the Swedish national center for applied artificial intelligence. Their mission is to accelerate the use of AI for the benefit of society, competitiveness, and for everyone living in Sweden.
Datastory is an organization devoted to explaining important issues using open data and visualization. Datastory uses modern technology, user experience design and storytelling – in short ‘data stories’ – to democratize knowledge.
