The story behind Datastory
More than 20 years of making data accessible
Founder Daniel Lapidus worked with Hans Rosling at Gapminder. “Hans Rosling taught me that data, presented right, replaces prejudice with understanding,” he says. In 2013 he founded Datastory, and in 2016 the same idea became Datastory.org, our non-profit that helps people understand the world through data.
Since then, the team has made data accessible for Dagens Nyheter, the Swedish Internet Foundation, Alecta, the United Nations, SKR, AI Sweden and many other organizations. Everything we learned along the way is built into the platform.
Our independent non-profit arm runs programs for schools and public education websites.
